Real-World AI
Shifting the dial — learn how to AI ideas to real-world use
Our mission
The Real-World AI stream brings people together through practical events, community access, and online learning to explore how AI is being used in real-world contexts — and how it can change the way we work, operate, and do things better in everyday life.
Shifting the dial — from AI ideas to real-world use
Real-World AI exists to help people change how they use and think about AI.
We bring diverse people together to learn, at a practical and accessible level, how an AI idea becomes something real — not just something you try once in a tool.
This is about understanding the basics that matter when turning an AI idea into reality:
how people use it, how it fits into everyday work or life, what questions to ask, and what to think about before you move forward.
You don’t need to be technical.
Real-World AI is designed to help people build confidence, ask better questions, and take informed steps beyond experimentation.
Real-World AI Live Labs
Short Sprint Sessions Online
Live Labs are online sessions designed to build AI literacy before people attend events or start applying AI in the real world.
These sessions help people make sense of the buzzwords, hype, and fast-moving language around AI, and translate them into plain, real-world understanding.
Live Labs focus on:
what common AI terms actually mean
how these ideas show up in real work and life
what’s important to pay attention to (and what isn’t)
how different concepts affect real-world use and decision-making
The goal is not to teach tools, but to help people arrive at events informed, confident, and able to participate meaningfully.
Live Labs improve AI literacy so people can ask better questions and understand what they’re seeing and hearing when AI is discussed or demonstrated.

Real-World AI Events
In-person activations
Real-World AI events are where people come together to learn how AI ideas move toward real-world use and production.
These in-person events build on the foundation created through Live Labs and focus on:
how AI ideas are taken beyond experimentation
what it takes to move an idea into real use
people, process, and practical considerations
learning from those who are actively working with AI in real contexts
e.
Events bring together diverse people and perspectives — from business, community, technology, and lived experience — to learn together and understand what responsible, real-world AI use actually looks like.
This is where people begin to connect understanding with action.
Ongoing Learning & Community
Learning doesn’t stop after a Live Lab or event. Real-World AI includes online sessions and community spaces that allow people to: continue learning over time reflect on what they’ve heard and seen share questions and experiences grow confidence gradually, not all at once This ongoing learning supports people as they move from: curiosity → understanding → real-world use without needing to be technical or already “ahead”.
Why this matters
Many people are currently using AI tools without fully understanding what’s behind them or what it takes to use AI well in real contexts. Real-World AI exists to shift the dial — helping people build the understanding they need to: move beyond hype engage more thoughtfully and take AI ideas into reality in ways that make sense for their work, life, or community
Real-World AI™ Live Labs & Event
Real-World AI™ is a learning experience designed to help people move beyond hype and experimentation and better understand what it takes to use AI in real-world contexts.
This is not about theory or just learning how to use tools.
It’s about building the understanding people need to move from learning to doing — so they can participate confidently in conversations, events, and real-world application.
