Real-World AI™ Live Labs Online – Beyond Vibe Coding: What “In Production” Really Means

June 8 @ 10:00 am - 10:30 am

The Industry Briefing: Karrina interviews Sean on what actually happens when AI moves from prototype to production at scale — and why the things that matter most are rarely the things people are talking about when they’re building.

The Technical Showcase: A live look at the real-world complexity of shipping AI at scale. Whether you are building, leading, or simply trying to understand what your organisation is taking on, this session covers what responsible production deployment actually involves — across architecture, governance, reliability, cost, security, monitoring, and the human and organisational readiness required to run AI well in a live environment.

10:00 am – 10:05 am | The industry briefing Karrina Mountfort will interview Sean Muller on the conversations she is having every day — teams shipping AI into production without a clear picture of what they are taking on. This segment gives everyone in the room — whether you are building, leading, or governing — the framing to participate in these conversations with confidence.

10:05 am – 10:20 am | The online live lab A 15-minute practitioner’s view of what production-scale AI actually demands. Sean will walk through the considerations that sit behind AI that performs reliably at scale — what to design for, what to govern, what to monitor, and what most teams only discover after they’ve shipped. You do not need to be a builder to get enormous value from this session. You just need to care about what happens when AI meets the real world.

10:20 am – 10:25 am | Rapid Q&A Direct access to Sean and Karrina to work through the questions you are already sitting with.

About our Speaker – Sean Muller is the Chief Technology Officer at Possibl.ai, where he works with enterprise CIOs and boards to turn AI ambition into real-world production outcomes.

With nearly three decades of experience across enterprise architecture, cloud, and AI, Sean specialises in designing the governance, operating models, and technical foundations required to move organisations from experimentation into scalable, trusted AI systems.

His career spans organisations including IBM, Cognizant, Woolworths, and the New Zealand public sector, where he has led large-scale AI and data initiatives — from building enterprise AI practices to delivering measurable outcomes across retail, government, and healthcare.

Sean’s work focuses on bridging the gap between what AI can do and what it actually takes to make it work in practice — helping organisations move beyond early experimentation and into sustainable, production-ready capability.

Real-World AI™ Live Labs: From Awareness to Action

Real-World AI™ Live Labs are where our mission becomes action. Through these sessions, we help people move through our AI The Right Way® Framework — from learning and awareness to confident, responsible use.

Together we:

• Explore how to apply AI safely and ethically in everyday work

• Collaborate on solving real-world problems using our PRE → LIVE → POST process

• Move from solving simple time-intensive tasks to transforming how we work by becoming AI-enabled

The AI landscape can feel overwhelming and cluttered with noise. While anyone can watch LinkedIn or YouTube, The AI Assembly® moves you beyond the feed.

We curate responsible practitioners from around the world to share the insights and real-world experiences that matter — helping you focus on what truly matters and how to apply it responsibly.

Our mission is to meet you wherever you are in your journey — whether you are studying, leading a business, or strengthening your role in the workplace — ensuring you are never left behind by the terminology or the technology.

Building an AI-Literate Aotearoa

Technology has democratised access to AI — now we are democratising the education needed to use it responsibly.

Through Real-World AI™ Live Labs and our broader initiatives, The AI Assembly® is building a national movement to make Aotearoa New Zealand an AI-literate nation, where every person has the knowledge, confidence, and opportunity to thrive.
